Most teenagers are online too much.


During these times, when no one can live disconnected, adolescents can face a phenomenon related to the extreme use of technological devices. In this sense, its use can have negative and positive effects, on the one hand, it is easier the connection between the peers and a greater knowledge. On the other hand, its negative effects are related to situations of bullying, depression and physical problems. With this, I do not want to sound like a person who hates technology, on the contrary, I think there is a consensus on how well it has done us since there are devices that are able to help us a lot in the day to day, however, we must be responsible with their use. 

Among the positive effects, the use of the internet implies a greater connection with others, which is very useful in situations such as the one we are currently experiencing given the health crisis that we are living today. In this sense, thanks to their high connection, teens can help other family members and teach them the use of networks so they can connect with their loved ones. On the other hand, using the Internet means having more intellectual and practical knowledge, because anything you want to find answers to will be easily found on Google. 

However, excessive use of the internet can have negative effects.In my opinion, social networks are a double-edged sword in the internet, as they can make us feel closer to the people we love, but also, it is able to foster situations of bullying or have low self-esteem for all images of hegemonic bodies of "influencers". High internet usage can also lead to visual problems such as shortsightedness, since the artificial light on the screens affects vision. 

In conclusion, the use of the internet can have positive and negative consequences. The negative consequences are knowledge and closeness to others and the negative consequences are visual problems, bullying and depression. While it’s not the idea for teens to stop using devices since we’re in an era of maximum connectivity, if you need to teach them responsible use of the internet and realize that devices are not real life.

Introduction The goal of this report is to inform the experience working at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, to help with recommendations to others who need it. My work experience During my six weeks  working at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York I was assigned to work on the improvement of the institute in the position of cultural advisor. a)      Location The cultural institute is located in Brooklyn, very close to the river.
